For most of my life my habits sucked! I thought I was incapable of creating habits so much so that a friend once suggested; “maybe your habit is to not have habits?”
I hung onto that for a while, it somehow gave me permission to not do the right thing to excuse my bad habits or my lack of discipline as being inherent. To stay stuck in a low vibration.
Fast forward ten years and my positive habits have become something I crave rather than a chore. Something I can be proud of rather than something that adds shame.
One of the ways I mastered good habits was to change my mindset and Rise Before my Bull which you can read more about in my book of the same title. I also created a framework for habits that highlights were I was going wrong in the past. But most of all my habits changed when I started to practice habits that raised my energy and vibration.
In my experience maintaining a high vibration was key to improving my attitude my emotional state and my wellbeing.
Here are my top daily habits that help me keep my vibration high and keep me working towards my goals.
1. Morning Mindset Ritual
Starting the day with a positive mindset sets the tone for everything that follows. My morning ritual includes:
Gratitude Journaling: Write down three things you’re grateful for. This simple practice shifts your focus from what’s not working in your life to all the things that are. I started with a post-it note beside my bed to remind me to practice gratitude before allowing any thoughts to start worrying me.
Practicing Affirmations: Speaking or writing positive affirmations that keep my mind and body positive. It might feel awkward at first, but affirmations rewire your brain for success. Affirmations are helpful at any time of the day to prepare you for a difficult interaction or simply to reset and refocus.
Meditation: I started with five minutes of meditation can center your mind and body, reducing stress and increasing clarity.
2. Spending Time in Nature
I am lucky to live close to sea and woodland. Nature has an incredible way of grounding us and raising our vibration. I love to take my dogs for a walk in the woods in front of my house or to the beach. It calms my mind and takes me out of my incessant need to do. It’s a perfect way to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with the earth. Plus the added bonus of the endorphins released.
3. Letting go of negative emotions
When I have a bad day or I am triggered by a person or situation I commit to releasing the anger/frustration or hurt so that I can live more fully in the present. Heavy emotions like guilt, shame, and fear often keep us stuck. Commit to letting go of these limiting emotions by working on your own healing. There are many techniques to help you let of the emotions of the past that are no longer serving you.
4. Productivity Power Hour
I start each day with planning, this helps to avoid overwhelm and frustrated from procrastination and disorganisation. My daily planning keeps me calm organised and in control. Eliminate Distractions by switching off all notifications. Plan time for your top priorities every day. Schedule time for breaks, exercise, and fun into your week to maintain high energy levels.
5. Spreading Love & Compassion
Nothing raises your vibration quite like spreading love and compassion. This can be done through your words and through your actions. Even when someone triggers you can you send them love? Can you have compassion for their situation, their struggles? I know it may seem like an impossible task but start with those you love and then spread the love and compassion wider.
These 5 daily habits have transformed my life and can do the same for you. Start small, be consistent, and watch how your energy shifts, opening doors to new opportunities and deeper happiness and fulfillment.
