You’ve done everything right. You’ve worked hard, you’ve built a good life, and from the outside, it probably looks like you’re thriving. But inside, it feels like you’re running just to stay standing.
If you’ve been feeling like you’re holding it all together, this is for you. Below are seven types of women I see again and again in my coaching work. You might recognise yourself in one, or a blend of a few.
The good news? None of these patterns are permanent. Once you understand what’s really going on beneath the surface, you can reset your nervous system, reclaim your energy, and start leading your life with calm, not chaos.
1. The Over-Responsible Woman
“You hold everything together, but you’re the one coming undone.”
You carry the weight of everyone’s needs, work, home, family, and team because you believe that if you don’t, things will fall apart. You’re dependable to a fault. The problem is, you’ve become responsible for everything except yourself.
The shift:
It’s time to delegate emotionally as well as practically. You don’t have to fix it all. Start by asking yourself each morning, “What am I responsible for today and what can I lovingly let go of?” When you allow others to carry their share, you create space for your own recovery and renewal.
2. The Woman Everyone Leans On
“You’re the strong one until you’re too tired to be.”
You’re the problem-solver, the listener, the one who always shows up. But lately, you’re running on fumes. When everyone turns to you for support, who do you turn to?
The shift:
Strength isn’t just holding others it’s allowing yourself to be held. The courageous act is to ask for help and then accept it without guilt. Your worth isn’t measured by how much you can carry. The next time someone asks, “How are you?” resist the urge to say “I’m fine.” Tell the truth, even just to yourself. That honesty starts the healing.
3. The Woman Who Used to Have It Together
“You were calm, organised, grounded… now it’s all just too much.”
Once, you had it together. You felt in control. But somewhere between caring for others, career changes, and constant pressure, your control disappeared.
The shift:
You don’t need to get “back” to who you were you’re evolving into someone wiser. Start small, one habit, one daily anchor that brings you back into alignment.
Maybe it’s five minutes of stillness before the day begins, or a nightly phone-free wind down.
4. The Woman Who Looks Fine but Feels Frayed
“From the outside you seem fine, but inside you’re running on empty.”
You’re functioning. You’re achieving. But the joy’s gone missing. The nervous system that once helped you thrive is now locked in survival mode.
The shift:
Your body needs safety before it can create success. Breathe deeply. Slow down your pace. Do less for one week and notice that the world doesn’t fall apart. When your nervous system feels safe, your clarity and confidence return naturally.
5. The Woman Whose Body Is Speaking Up
“Your mind says ‘keep going,’ but your body’s begging you to stop.”
The tension, the gut issues, the fatigue they’re not random. They’re messages from your body that your mind has been ignoring.
The shift:
Your first step isn’t a diet or detox it’s regulation. Ground your body daily, breathe, stretch, walk outside.
Ask, “What is my body asking for right now?” and honour the answer. When you calm your nervous system, your body begins to trust you again.
6. The Woman Who Keeps Promising Herself “Next Week”
“You know what you need but life keeps getting in the way.”
You start the week with good intentions, but by Thursday, you’re back in survival mode. You know what would help, sleep, exercise, and boundaries yet there’s never time.
The shift:
Change doesn’t always need more time, it requires different energy. Start with one non-negotiable ritual that supports your wellbeing. Protect it like an important meeting. Progress happens when self-care becomes a daily part of your life, so natural you dont’ even think about it.
7. The Woman Who Wants to Feel Like Herself Again
“You don’t want more success. You just want your spark back.”
You’ve ticked the boxes, hit the goals, played the part but lately, you miss the version of you that laughed more easily, that felt lighter, and had more energy for life.
The shift:
You don’t need to go looking for her because she’s still there. She’s just buried under the noise. Start reconnecting to music, movement, nature, and connection.
When you bring your energy back into alignment, everything else, your health, your clarity, your confidence will naturally follow.
The Reset
Whatever version of yourself you recognised above, the path forward begins the same way:
With awareness, compassion and a nervous system that finally feels safe to slow down.
You don’t have to keep holding it all. You don’t have to earn your rest, and you don’t have to keep proving your worth by how much you can do.
Because when your energy resets, your life does too.
This is exactly what I help women do inside my Lifeflow Accelerator Program to calm the nervous system, reset energy and emotional patterns, and create success that actually feels good.
You’ve done your best for long enough. Now it’s time for it to finally feel like enough!
